ORFEUM HISPANIA – European Music Festivals Organization, member of Alliance of Festivals Associations, invites singers from all over the world to participate in the UNIVERSONG 2026 – The Canary Islands International Song Festival (25th Aniversary – Online Edition)

REGULATIONS

CATEGORIES

UNIVERSONG JUNIOR – From 8 to 15 years old and UNIVERSONG – From 16 years

In both categories the participation of soloists and vocal groups is allowed. Groups will compete in the category corresponding to the mean age of all their members.

PARTICIPATION

Each participant must present, at least, 2 songs in any style. Songs can be international or national hits, original songs or other kind of songs. The International Jury will only value the performance of the singer, not the song as composition. Preferably, the submitted songs should not exceed 4 minutes, although longer songs are allowed.

Allowed formats:

HOME RECORDING VIDEO OF THE PERFORMANCE AND VIDEOS OF PERFORMANCES AT OTHER FESTIVALS, CONCERTS OR TV SHOWS.

As far as possible, the background of the home recording should be neutral (a white wall or similar). The artists’ costumes must be appropriate for performing at a festival.
The filming of the performances must have enough quality (audio and video) for its online broadcast for the international jury and for the audience.

VERY IMPORTANT: Horizontal recording. Videos submitted in vertical format will be disqualified.

By participating in the contest and signing the registration form, the participants authorize the festival organization to use the songs presented, their names, the recording of their performances, as well as their pictures for promotion and dissemination of the contest. They also take responsibility for the origin of the music bases used (playbacks) and releasing the organizers from any claim about it. Participants also accept the Privacy and Data Protection Policy of the festival. Minor artists (Under 18 y.o.) must have the acceptance and authorization of their father, mother or guardian in the entry form.

GROUPS: The entry form must be completed by the representative or leader of the group, accepting, on behalf of all the components, the regulations of the festival and the privacy policy. The representative is also responsible for and authorizes the participation of minors, if there are any in the group, confirming by accepting these regulations that he/she has the proper authorization of the parents or legal guardians of the underage participants.

Diplomas of Excellence, Honourable Mentions, other important Special Awards and Finalist Diplomas.
Online promotion on social networks and the official web of the festival.
Participation in new music productions and international cooperation with other artists.
Invitations to other international music festivals.

And Special Prizes by HOTEL ATLANTIC EL TOPE and APARTAMENTOS MASARU – Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife)

ORFEUM ACADEMY, INTERNATIONAL JURY and COMMITTEE.
They will evaluate all the works received. Their votes will be unappealable.

ENTRY FEE – 55 euros (2 songs)
If you want to submit more songs, fill out a new form. With each registration you can submit 2 new songs. There is no limit.

Registrations from August 5 to October 5 – 2026

The contest rules may be changed if the development or production of the festival so requires. The registration of the participation will not be completed until all the required information and materials have been sent and the payment of the registration fee has been made. The amount of the registration fee is non-refundable.
